A 53-year-old former Bolton cricketer has collapsed and died while playing the game in New Zealand. Brian Kendall played for Egerton between 1967 and 1974 appearing in the club's two successful Hamer Cup final wins in 1970 and 71.
He later emigrated to New Zealand where he continued to play amateur cricket and it was during a game that he collapsed. Efforts were made to revive him but he later died.
