BARTON Grange Garden Centre at Bolton has won the prestigious Garden Retailer of the Year competition. Gardening retail outlets around the country were marked and judged on excellence, staff training and expertise, overall standards and customer services including guarantees. The competition was run by AgrEvo Hardware and Garden Review.
Barton Grange, Bolton, which underwent a major re-development in 1998, now has a pets and aquatics centre, together with a Colliers Kitchen restaurant themed on the former Deane Victoria Mine which used to stand on the site.
The Bolton garden centre is part of a three strong chain, owned by Eddie Topping, and under the directorship of his youngest son Guy.
The others are at Preston and Woodford.
