A V Taylor's letter, March 11, about the housing of needy children in two unused council properties adjacent to Manor Court, spoke volumes.
A V Taylor asks, indignantly, why these children cannot be housed in the empty council houses along New Lane. He/she says, empty council property should be put to use.
Well, of course, it should! And isn't this what Cllr Morris and his colleagues are trying to do with the "empty council property" near Manor Court? It would, in my opinion, be a much better environment for the children with care close at hand.
It is very commendable that the residents of Harwood are so concerned about the elderly people living in Manor Court, but A V Taylor gets down to the nitty gritty. His/her only concern, it would seem, is that needy children are not housed on his/her doorstep.
Of course adequate supervision must be provided whereever these children are housed, and I feel sure Cllr Morris and his colleagues are well aware of this.
