CUERDEN Park users were horrified recently to see notices announcing that footpaths could be closed for months, to build a cycleway.
Whatever the case for cycleways (which hopefully do NOT share paths with pedestrians and dogs), people should have been consulted about the proposal.
I took up the case with my Liberal Democrat local councillor Simon Jones.
He put forward at Chorley Council the case that park users, local residents and the parish councils should be consulted on any future developments.
I am very pleased that all parties supported this call and would like to thank Councillor Jones and all his colleagues on the council.
I hope that Cuerden Park Trust and the Wildlife Trust will take note!Miss V E Woodcock,
