A BOLTON woman marked a major milestone for specialist bus services in the town. Joyce Trevitt, of the Sutton Estate, Deane, became the one-millionth Bolton Ring and Ride passenger. She was presented with a bouquet of flowers to celebrate the achievement of the local authority-funded bus service.
Cllr Paul Fitzpatrick, a member of the Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Authority, said: "This is an incredible milestone for Ring and Ride in Bolton.
"Ring and Ride provide a valuable service for those passengers who cannot use ordinary public transport.
"I would like to extend my thanks to the rest of the million passengers who have used the service and especially to the Ring and Ride staff who have made this possible.
"Ring and Ride really is a service that Greater Manchester can be proud of."
The service gives door-to-door transport for those who have physical difficulties using the regular bus facilities.
