MORE information has been released of how Bolton schools can apply for free tickets to the MIllennium Dome.

Prime Minister Tony Blair announced last week that more than one million complimentary tickets will be given away nationwide. Tickets will be allocated through regional draws and schools can apply for up to 100 free tickets.

Children in school years four to 11 - aged eight to 16 - will be eligible and accompanying teachers will also have free admission.

The tours will last four hours, taking in shows and exhibitions appropriate to the age group and curriculum needs of the classes involved.

There will be four draws and schools will be invited to enter for one draw only, nominating three preferred dates for their tour.

The draws will take place in November 1999, February 2000, June 2000 and October 2000.

Schools can also reserve tickets for £8 a student for children of all ages.

The New Millennium Experience's North West education manager Richard Sharples said: "The Dome wil be the greatest concentration of entertainment, inspiration and education under one roof anywhere in the world.

"The educational tours scheme means at least a third of UK schools will be able to arrange trips with free admission."

Final details of how schools can apply will be released in June.
