WINGER Alan Hadcroft is likely to miss two matches with the shoulder injury he picked up in Leigh Centurions' battling win over Featherstone on Sunday. Medics feared that Hadcroft, a try scorer in the 16-12 win, had cracked a collar bone in a second half tackle. But x-rays have shown that the injury is nothing worse than severe bruising.
Hadcroft is a certain non-starter for this weekend's tricky trip to Barrow where Leigh will be looking for their fourth straight win to maintain their top three position in the Northern Ford Premiership. He is also a doubt for the big home clash with Widnes the following Sunday. A fit-again Paul Wingfield will replace Hadcroft. Kieron Purtill, who missed the Featherstone game with a shoulder injury, is likely to be back at Barrow along with Aussie second rower Heath Cruickshank who has almost fully recovered from a bruised cheekbone.
Meanwhile Lancashire Lynx have made a move for unwanted second row forward Shaun Geritas who moved to Hilton Park last season after being released by Warrington Wolves. Leigh's Alliance side face a two-games-in-three-days rush this week. Tomorrow night they travel to meet Oldham at Castleton Gabriels soccer ground in Rochdale and on Saturday travel to Barrow.
