BOLTON business leaders are about to face the strong arm of the law after falling foul of the Contravention of Barbed Wire Act 1872.
A team of uniformed officers from Astley Bridge police station are planning a swoop on firms in the town and arranging "hospitality" in the cells at the Reebok Stadium tomorrow.
Colleagues, friends and family will be begged to stump up their bail money, but it is all in a good cause.
The Royal National Institute for the Blind has dreamed up the stunt in conjunction with local police and Bolton Wanderers.
Tomorrow morning the hit squad will target businesses in the town, taking away the bosses in handcuffs and slinging them in the cells at the football stadium.
Most of the "criminals" know they are to be targeted and are already raising their bail money in preparation, but for some it is going to come as a big shock.
Organiser Jacky Moss plans to release the dozen prisoners at 2pm after hopefully raising hundreds of pounds to produce talking books for the charity.
And there is a bonus for the convicts, with the people who raise the most bail money being presented with a Wanderers shirt and a hamper.
But for any employees hoping to leave their bosses to rot Jacky has a warning. She explained: "We have to charge extra for that!"
