A NEW general manager has been appointed at the Last Drop Village Hotel and Leisure Club in Bromley Cross - part of Macdonald Hotels plc.
Mr Ian Gelling worked previously at the Scottish-based hotel and leisure group's Albrighton Hall Hotel & Leisure Club in Shrewsbury.
He has worked for Macdonald Hotels for almost four years and has been in the hospitality industry for more than 20.
A Manxman by birth, he grew up in Manchester and took a catering degree at Blackpool College.
He said: "The Last Drop Village and Leisure Club is a unique hotel and I am delighted with my new position as General Manager.
"Originally from the North-west, this is a return to the area for which I have a great affinity."
He added: "It is an exciting time at the Last Drop as we start to see the fruits of the recently-completed £5 million extension and redevelopment project."
The scheme created the Leisure Club, 40 extra executive bedrooms and the 500 capacity Pennine function suite.
