TWO Year 8 pupils have designed their own board game based on their project work in geography, where they have learnt all about the Amazonian Rain Forest.
We sent John Jackson, roving reporter, along to find out more from Chloe Deane and Carla Pennington, both in 8JL.
Q. When did you make the game?
A. Over a weekend. We were fascinated by the subject and wanted to try to make the topic more exciting for pupils.
Q. What did you make it out of?
A. Mainly cardboard, paper and fluorescent stars (for the questions). Felt tips were used to decorate the game and draw the trail.
Q. Where did you make it?
A. At home.
Q. Will you be trying to market the game further?
A. We'd like to. Mrs Greenway, our geography teacher, thinks we should ring up games' manufacturers, but we're not sure.
Q. What was the teacher's reaction?
A. She thought it was very good and has displayed it on her wall for all to
see.
Q. Would you say it is hard to play?
A. It depends if you are under 11 years old. Then you might find it hard - but we have tried to make it as fun and as informative as possible.
Q. What do you like most about it?
A. The colour, and the questions. We are really proud of our Amazon
questions.
