CHORLEY Harriers - defending their title as last year's winners - turned out 18 runners for the Ormskirk Half Marathon - the first race in the Lancashire Inter-Club Grand Prix series.
The blustery and wet conditions were not ideal, yet some decent times were posted.
First Harrier home in eighth position was Alan Alty in 77 minutes. It was also good to see Alan Matthews taking 11 minutes off last year's time to record 1hr 49mins (PB).
Other results:
John Chaplin (1hr 21mins); Pete Gillham (1.22); Terry Walton (1.23); Malc Christie (1.24); Chris Cowley and Dave Lee (1.28); Pete McDade (1.32); Graham Stephenson (1.34); Martin Harrington (1.39); Mike Ogle and Bob Hampson (1.40); Jeanette Coleman (1.42); Don Hesketh and Janet Chaplin (1.47); Alan Matthews (1.49); Caroline Hesketh (2.17); Val McDade (2.30).
Meanwhile, Chorley Harriers Juniors meet and train at Parklands High School, Southport Road, each Thursday evening from 6pm.
Rick Bennett, BAF qualified coach, said: "We encourage all youngsters to come along and get involved.
"At this level, it is a question of having fun and to see that they enjoy their running. We have children of all abilities and everyone is made to feel part of the squad."
