CORONATION Street stars Roy Cropper and Haley Patterson will be rolling into Chorley this weekend to launch Roller Quest - Camelot Theme Park's world beating attraction!

The two actors - David Neilson and Julie Hesmondhalgh - officially open the ride next Saturday morning and the crowds are sure to gather to see two of the nation's favourite TV stars.

Sandra Dempsey, marketing manager for Camelot Theme Park, said: "Roy and Haley have been looking for new pursuits and hobbies, so we have invited the two soap stars to launch this new ride Roller Quest.

"It will certainly make Roy's ballroom dancing lessons and Haley's amateur dramatics seem tame - if they're looking for excitement, Roller Quest will certainly provide just that!"

This new attraction has been created and developed by Bolton-based Smart Entertainment Ltd, and looks set to take the nation by storm.

Roller Quest allows the player to become the leading character in a computer game that is played on Rollerblades and against the clock.

Skaters race around a specially themed labyrinth tagging computer screens in search of virtual symbols.

Bosses at Camelot Theme Park believe Roller Quest has revolutionised the way computer games are played.

Youngsters will no longer sit glued to a screen for hours on end. Instead, the mind and body of the player will be simultaneously challenged.

Statistics show that in-line skating is a great way to get fit and burn fat. A person weighing ten stone will burn approximately 360 calories in a 30 minute work out.

It remains to be seen whether Roller Quest becomes a firm favourite with Roy and Haley. But, you never know, maybe with Roy's skills as an entrepreneur, he may well decide to build a circuit next to Roy's Cafe on Coronation Street!
