A CHORLEY couple have enlisted the help of their local MP because they are unsure of their address.
But the problem isn't with their house number or street name - it's their postcode.
For when Arthur Lea, and his wife Jean, both 72, moved into 159 Southport Road, Eccleston, their postcode was PR7. Now, however, it's changed to PR5 and the couple aren't pleased.
Arthur, a retired transport auditor, said: "I just can't understand it, it's completely beyond me.
"We went to renew our house insurance and found that it had gone up considerably. When I queried it the broker said our postcode was PR5, an area with a higher crime rate."
Jean, equally confused, said: "It's all very strange. The problem is if we ring Chorley Council up we get told we are part of South Ribble and to contact them. But when we do we don't have much luck there either.
Now Mr Hoyle has written to the Royal Mail's chairman and is awaiting a reply.
