A CHORLEY primary school is celebrating a "positive" OFSTED report.
Manor Road County Primary, Clayton-le-Woods, was said to be a good school where the inspectors observed some excellent teaching.
They found lessons were well prepared and balanced and teachers managed pupils well and maintained high expectations for their behaviour.
Teaching was consistently good for the under-fives. Across the school, 54 per cent of all teaching was excellent, very good, or good, with no unsatisfactory teaching reported.
There was good provision and a high level of support for children with special educational needs.
Staff were said to be friendly, children well looked after and levels of attendance excellent and well above the national average.
Inspectors said the school had developed a very good working partnership with parents and that all staff worked hard to maintain strong links between home and school. Parents said they felt very involved in school life.
Chairman of governors, Alan Cullens, said: "We are pleased with our latest OFSTED report which recognises the hard work and achievements of the staff and children of Manor Road.
"In the coming months we aim to improve and develop the school in line with the report's recommendations.
