AN elderly woman was knocked to the ground by a thug from behind and dragged along the pavement as he wrestled her shopping bag from her.
The 86-year-old pensioner was walking along Cornall Street, Bury, at 10am yesterday morning when the attacker struck.
She suffered a dislocated shoulder, heavy bruising and swelling to her eye. The thug ran off with her bag containing cash.
The injured pensioner was taken to Royal Bolton Hospital for treatment, before being allowed home.
Her attacker was wearing yellow clothing.
