TOP BBC Radio 1 DJ Dave Pearce is taking the vibe of his massively popular Sunday night, Dance Anthems, show on a nationwide tour. And it hits the Ikon nightclub in Bolton on Friday night.
The tour is a forerunner to the release of the Dave Pearce presents... album on May 10.
Since the show started in July 1997, Dance Anthems has achieved cult status with more than a million fans tuning in every Sunday evening between 7 and 10pm. Featuring club classics and the biggest anthems, the show reflects the highlights of the dance music era over the past 10 years.
Pearce explained to the BEN why it seemed like a natural progression to take the sounds from the Dance Anthems show on tour: "We get more than 500 e-mails to the show every week and the phone never stops ringing. It's an extremely interactive three hours of radio. Taking 'Dance Anthems' on tour seemed like an obvious way of giving something back to the loyal listeners, as well as giving me a chance to meet some of them."
