A TOUCH of Latin America is coming to Chorley this Easter.
Youngsters aged between 10 and 18 are being urged to get on down to the Young People's Drumming and Dance Workshop at the Tatton Centre, Windermere Street, off Eaves Lane, and learn about the latest dance and music craze to hit Europe.
The workshop has been organised by the people behind Chorley's samba school, Escola de Samba, and funded by the borough's District Arts Association.
Any youngsters who enjoy music, dance, martial arts, sports or being active will find fun at the workshop. And Organiser Steve Davies is keen to stress that anyone can have a go.
He said: "It's a very exciting project."
Professional dancer Danny Henry will be on hand to teach a wide variety of styles.
Youngsters can pick up tips from Diane Barnes, who has played in a number of samba bands, and will be teaching basic percussion and drumming techniques.
Chris Mellor, Chorley Council's arts development officer, said: "It's a great opportunity to tune in to the sounds of Latin America."
The workshop takes place next Wednesday (April 7) from 10am to 1pm. Admission is free, but interested parties are advised to book in advance by calling 234903 or 274349. Loose clothing and trainers are recommended.
