HOSPITAL waiting lists in Chorley have remained stable as the number of people awaiting NHS treatment in the North West fell for the eighth consecutive month.
The number of patients needing NHS operations in Chorley has shown a slight monthly fall, but the local waiting list has been stable for more than a year, and is significantly longer than it was two years ago.
NHS figures show that Chorley and South Ribble Health Trust had 2,185 patients awaiting treatment in February, 80 down on the previous month, but still 300 more than were waiting in March 1997.
