THROUGH this column, may I ask that every shop or service has a regular supply of donor cards on the counter to pick up?
May I also say that, if anyone carries the card, they also put a note on it to ask to be taken to the nearest cold storage section of the nearest hospital because so few people actually know where to send a body for donorship. And very few know that organ and marrow donorship is different from medical research at UMIST in Manchester and, because only whole bodies can be offered for research, the organs and marrow must be offered and rejected first or bypassed altogether if only research is requested.
