I AM very angry with the Liberal Democrats and in particular Mr Wilkinson for spreading fear throughout Westhoughton as a means of getting back on to Bolton Council.
I am one of the residents who received one of these Liberal leaflets saying that Bolton Council supports development on Bowlands Hey and frankly believe that Bolton Council should sue the pants off them.
I was involved in opposition to Bowlands Hey and all along had support from Bolton councillors like Peter Finch and the Planning Department. If Bolton Council is in favour of developing Bowlands Hey, why did they fight it at a public inquiry?
I am frequently critical of Bolton Council and will be the first to say that improvements can be made. But the fact is that the council opposed this development, as did the councillors. Any leaflet saying differently should be investigated, as it is plain libel.
