WHILE it is easy to agree that no child should be put into unsuitable secure accommodation, the victims of the 12-year-old boy with a record of robbery, burglary and theft might think differently.
Bolton magistrates instead remanded the boy into care after Social Services said there were only vacancies at secure accommodation in London and Coventry. The situation seems to suggest the need for more secure units regionally to cope with out-of-control youngsters.
