The Island Race represents the challenge of the Millennium. Taking place over 100 days between May and August 2000, it will involve a series of runners completing the four and a half thousand miles around the coast of Britain. I have no doubt that this is the biggest, longest and most national of all the planned Millennium events.
Although The Island Race has charitable status, we are not looking for donations from individuals or companies. More importantly, we are seeking an enthusiastic involvement from 30 or so individuals who will represent their company, their industry or their 'walk of life' over one of the 100 stages of the event, and, in so doing, help us exceed our target of raising £3m for charity.
This is an incredible initiative ,and with patronage from HRH The Princess Royal we believe we can well exceed our target in the months ahead.
If you would like to become involved or require further information, may I suggest you write to Richard Haldane, Chair of our Trust, at the following address - Richard Haldane, Cloan, Auchterarder, Perthshire, PH3 1PP.
