DRUGS worth more than £1 million have been seized by Bolton's police officers in the first six months of this year.
The figure - which compares with only £74,620 for the same period last year - illustrates the successes Bolton's police officers are now having in the war against drugs.
On the Bolton Police south sub division last month the Bolton Central plain clothes department seized drugs with a street value of £134,495. Seizures of heroin and cocaine alone amount to £84,010.
The police team also arrested 14 people during the same four-week period and raided five homes.
