A DISTRAUGHT mum from Tyldesley has urged men not to ignore embarrassing lumps after the death of her 35-year-old son.
Part-time doorman David Bramhall died from septicemia days after he eventually reported the lump and went into Salford's Hope Hospital.
Today his mum, Beryl Horrocks, said: "He'd got an abcess in his backside but never did anything about it until it was too late.
"People, particularly men, should not neglect their heath when they find something like this.
"They should go to the doctor and do something about it. I wish David had - sooner."
Mr Bramhall, of Well Street, Tyldesley, carried an organ donor card and Beryl, with husband Brian, hoped his vital organs could have been used in transplants.

But, because of the septicemia, the hospital were unable to do so and instead are using them for medical reasearch.
His death stunned his family and friends.
On Monday, 500 people joined the funeral cortege from Well Street to Tyldesley Parish Church and stopped town centre traffic.
Mrs Horrocks said: "There were so many people there and I can't thank them enough for their support.
"Everyone who helped David has been magnificent - friends, hospital, police and work.
"He lived life at 100 miles an hour.
"In 35 years, he touched more lives than some people do in three life-times."
