WHEN Mickey Wallace was placed on the transfer list by Leigh RMI during the close season, he could have shrugged his shoulders with an air of que sera, que sera.
But instead, he decided to prove manager Steve Waywell wrong by buckling down, being an ever-present at training, turning in impressive performances and his attitude has been rewarded by being taken off the list.
He will take his place on the left side of midfield tomorrow when RMI entertain struggling Whitby but competition is increasing again with Waywell on the trail of Altrincham's Richard Harris.
It is doubtful that Harris will figure tomorrow but striker Brian Ross could make a surprise return as Neil Matthews is struggling with a back problem. Eddie Turkington will revert to a central defensive role if Dave Ridings passes a late fitness test.
