LOCAL people are being invited to the Horwich Resource Centre to take part in the world's biggest coffee morning - and sip their way into the record books.
The event takes place on Friday, October 1, and simultaneously at hundreds of venues across the country.
Guests will sign their names to help Macmillan Cancer Relief break its own world record of half a million signatures.
Macmillan, supported by Nescafe, is encouraging people to get together with friends, relatives and work colleagues for a coffee break. As well as giving their support in signature form, quaffers will also donate money for their coffee and help local people living with cancer.
In Horwich, the coffee morning will take place at the Resource Centre in Beaumont Road between 10am and noon.
Sue Stockton from the Resource Centre said: "Everyone is invited to join us for a coffee, whether it's for a couple of minutes or a couple of hours.
The morning should be lots of fun and, of course, it's for a really good cause.
Last year over a million people took part in the event and raised over £2 million for Macmillan Cancer Relief in just four hours. So come along and help us make 1999 even better."
Further information can be obtained from the Resource Centre on Bolton 668157 or fax 696853.
