I FEEL I must respond to the letter referring to windfarms (BEN August 24).
Far from being an eyesore I feel that wind generators are quite attractive additions to the landscape. Holidaying recently in Cornwall I saw many windfarms, none of which "left me cold" .
Thousand of pounds are put into finding alternate sources of power, but at this moment in time the cleanest and most effective have been found to be windfarms.
I cannot help but think whether people would prefer on Turton Moor, the cooling tower of a coal fired power station (which is what will be continued to be used if alternatives are refused) or a wind farm.
The slight noise of a wind farm on a rare very windy day does not compare to the damage to our health caused by the pollution and radiation risk from nuclear power, from current alternatives.
