EMPLOYEES need to work for only one year to gain protection from unfair dismissal following a new change in the law.
The previous length of two years was cut and will apply to all cases where the date of termination was on or after June 1.
There is further good news for employees - the present £12,000 limit on compensation for unfair dismissal will be increased to £50,000 by early Autumn.
