GAS infrastructure company BG Energy Services has opened a new office in Bolton - completing its master plan.
The firm, which has located to Chorley New Road, now has regional offices within an hour of 95 per cent of UK gas consumers.
And it will now concentrate on trying to become the country's leading independent provider of gas infrastructure services to the industrial and commercial market.
John Baldwin, BG Energy Services general manager, said: "Following deregulation, gas consumers can choose from a growing selection of competing suppliers, shippers, transporters, pipelaying companies and installers.
"It is not always easy to ensure these services are purchased at the best possible rates.
"We want to give consumers an additional local choice."
The company, set up in 1998, is a subsidiary of BG plc, part of the former British Gas.
