POSTIE Shaun Williams will have the biggest 'round' of his life when he heads for Germany to dispatch letters and top-level security orders for the Territorial Army.
The Bolton Royal Mail project worker will be covering 22,500 square miles as he joins part-time troops shipping out for the TA's largest manoeuvre for a generation.
The 42-year-old will be helped out by 47 comrades from the postal and Courier Squadron in an important mission - to boost morale.
He said: "We must ensure letters from loved ones reach their destinations on time.
"It's a tall order when your patch stretches from the port of Emden in north Germany to the southern town of Guttersloh. But the service is vital for morale.
"Even more important are the documents and orders crucial to security which we carry aboard our vehicles and Harley Davidson dispatch bikes."
The operation, Forged Shield, includes 3,800-strong specialist units and over the next two weeks, the soldiers will prove how quickly and smoothly they can deploy abroad.
The last time so many part-time soldiers were involved in a reserve forces exercise was in 1982.
