IMAGO won the BSF Rounders League Finestyle Windows final when they beat Bartons A 249-180. Imago batted first and received 150 runs start. They then scored 48 with Leanne Tudge (14) Yvonne Halliwell (10) and Julie Orrell, 11 runs being the main scorers.
Bartons A batting was limited to 20 minutes and had scored 110 runs at the half time interval. Angela Booth (21) Hazel Turner (16) Sheila Smethurst (16) Gayle Nicholson (15) Trish Dyson (10) and Debbie Booth, 10 runs being top scorers for Bartons.
This left Bartons trailing 198-110.
Imago again added 52 runs in the second innings with Sharon Gallagher (16) Joanne Whitehead (12) and Amanda Tonge (11) top scoring.
Bartons then had 20 minutes batting left to score 140 runs for victory.
Imago however played a tactical game and dispensed with their first base fielder. Bartons lost five batters without troubling the scorers and the odds swung more heavily in Imago's favour.
Bartons were dismissed for 70 runs with Chris Nicholson scoring 27 runs which included four rounders and Sam Roberts scoring 17 runs. The Finestyle Trophy was presented to the Imago captain by Mr Stan Walker from Finestyle Windows.
VBQ triumphed over Hare and Hounds in the final of the Finestyle Windows Dorothy Clarke competition.
Hare and Hounds batted first and were dismissed for 58 runs which included a 20 run handicap.
VBQ batted steadily and scored 73 runs before being dismissed. Audrey Cornwell (15) and Deb Astley 12 run being the main scorers.
Hare and Hounds batted better in their second innings and were finally dismissed for 75 runs. Joanne Carney (23) Mandy Ecclesey (18) and Margaret Carner 17 runs being the top scorers.
VBQ continued to dominate the game and had scored 115 runs in their second innings before being dismissed. Joane Ducker (24) Deb Astley (17) Michelle Marsh (14) Nicky Cullen (14) Audrey Cornwell (13) and Dawn Greeney 12 runs all reaching double figures.
This left VBQ winners by 188-133.
Mrs Jackie Walker of Finestyle windows presented the trophy to Tracy Barrett the non-playing captain of VBQ.
These two finals see the end of the summer season but teams are now signing players for the new season in 2000.
