UNITED Utilities' new chief executive John Roberts is more than happy with his new job.
It means he can return to the region where he has spent most of his working life, after moving away for three years to South Wales to work for electricity company SWALEC.
He is taking over from Derek Green who is retiring from the group on his 60th birthday in January.
Mr Roberts has spent more than 30 years in the business, gaining a degree in electrical engineering at Liverpool University before moving on to Manweb where he rose to become chief executive.
He moved to South Wales Electricity as chief executive three years ago.
He said: "The customer is the cornerstone of the business even though people might not think of United Utilities when they switch on a light or turn on a tap.
"I will be making sure we continue to deliver high quality services above and beyond expectation in today's challenging market place."
