I HAVE just seen the Last Night of the proms, and heard Rule Britannia and Jerusalem, stirring choruses which causes us to reflect that there is no United Kingdom now, as it has been transformed into 12 EU regions, out of 222 in all Europe.

Our politicians and our press do not tell us of these great changes to conform with the will of the EU which is absolute, and turns our songs into history as our politicians have signed most of our sovereignty away, even making our Parliament subservient to them.

An aspect of the power of the EU is basic in Bob Lomas's letter which informs us (September 11), that the Pegasus badge of our Parachute Regiment is to disappear "in the interest of creating a country called Europe", and to integrate with the EU defence force! As our Armed Services' strength is so low now, could we repel any armed incursion from any source in future, especially as Kent (with its Channel Tunnel) is already part of a French/Belgian composite EU Region? Is it, you may say? Yes it is, people living there have told me French, German, and British police now patrol some of the streets and trains, and more besides!

So what's going on? From my experiences in World War II in khaki and seeing others whose daily lives were fraught with sudden death or awful wounds, on land, sea, and air for our freedom, surely it is time we woke up and queried what's happening to us all as we enter the EU Superstate: and start to revive our pride as a nation capable of creating our own destiny, and able to trade and live in peace with Europe and the rest of the World.
