HEALTH bosses have put themselves forward for a top national award. Bolton Community Healthcare Trust has nominated itself for the Trust of the Year in the Health Service Management Awards. Since the Trust's inception in 1994, its budget has grown from £11 million to £20 million and it employs 850 members of staff, a growth of more than 350 since its formation.
In its nomination form the Trust, which is based at St Peter's House, Silverwell Street, says: "The Trust's overriding ethos is to ensure that it is in a position to be able to appropriately deliver services that can be provided to patients within the community in which they live.
"Through creative thinking, innovative practice and management, and working with our community and purchasers to understand local need and expectations, the Trust has been able to continually provide modern, effective and valued services to the people of Bolton within their local communities."
