MEMBERS of the North West Aerospace Alliance scored a winner by lining up the Reebok Stadium to host its first annual meeting since it changed its name.
The meeting of the former Consortium of Lancashire Aerospace came after a record-breaking year for the Alliance.
Members netted an estimated £30 million in new business and the Alliance has forged close ties with the new North West Regional Development Agency.
Chairman Dennis Mendoros said: "Our choice of the Reebok Stadium for our first annual meeting as the Alliance reflects our desire to be at the centre of activity in a region which generates £5 billion in aerospace sales annually and supports 60,000 jobs. The annual meeting was followed by a presentation by Mr Mendoros recognising the contribution made to the region's aerospace industry by retiring board member, Lancashire County Councillor Irene Short.
