YOUNG golfers from the Shaw Hill club were celebrating this week, after winning a prestigious trophy.
The local team won this year's Preston and District Junior Golf Association Paula Reid memorial trophy.
The event took place at Leyland's golf club with the youngsters recording a score of 409.
Junior captain Ross Manton lead the way with 75, reduced to 65 after his 10 handicap was taken off the score. Ross also came an impressive second in the individual tournament behind Leyland's Adam Smith.
Chris Boughey, Nick Berry, Ian McKenna, Oliver Gardiner, David Ward, Matthew Nutter and Neil Ingham all contributed to the victory.
Neil Ingham also won the individual award for the longest drive and Nick Berry grabbed the nearest the pin award.
Shaw Hill Juniors have enjoyed a fine season so far, finishing runners up in the Preston and District league to Preston Golf Club.
