YOU'VE got to hand it to BLT - they will tackle anything. Tom Stoppard's The Real Inspector Hound and Peter Shaffer's Black Comedy are not the easiest plays to perform.
But BLT make a terrific success of this comedy bill and Saturday's first night sell-out audience appreciated that. The evening was in aid of the Bolton Young Persons' Housing Scheme.
The Real Inspector Hound pokes fun at pretentious theatre critics and murder mystery plays.
But for excellent comic timing and an instinctive understanding of Stoppard's humour my vote goes to Nina Faulkner as Mrs Drudge.
The play is cleverly directed by John Cunningham.
With Black Comedy, there are excellent performances from Stephen Stubbs (Brindsley), Caroline Brindle (Carol), Steve Gill (Schuppanzigh), Stephanie Bradley (Clea) and Mark Leigh (Bamberger). Andrew Close directs with style.
