A TROPHY will help keep alive the memory of two Bolton Wanderers fans who died in a car smash.
Tragic father and son Martin and Matthew Hunt were both killed on their way back from their beloved team's crucial play-off clash at Ipswich Town last season.
As reported in the BEN, Martin, aged 28, and his six-year-old son, Matthew, died when their car crashed into the central reservation on the M62 just miles from their Middleton home.
The victory took the club to Wembley where the team were eventually beaten 2-0 by Watford and missed out on a place in the Premiership.
Winners
The Hunt family - who are all lifelong Bolton fans - donated the trophy which will now be played for at the annual Bolton Wanderers fun day.
The first winners of the event were the children from Lostock CP School who defeated Beaumont in the final.
The event was held on the Reebok car park during the fun day in July and as a treat for the two finalists an exhibition match was held before the roses clash with Barnsley at the Reebok on Saturday.
