TWO armed thugs aimed a gun at a Post Office customer and threatened to pull the trigger during a robbery in Kearsley.
The raiders pointed the gun at the terrified customer before ordering the postmaster to hand over his takings.
They then fled from Kearsley Post Office, Manchester Road, with up to £500 in cash.
Police hunting the two armed men were today appealing for help from shoppers and passers-by who may have seen the raiders.
The men burst into the post office at 1.25pm yesterday with their coat hoods over their heads. They fled within minutes after the postmaster handed over his takings.
Detectives say the two men ran away from the scene before driving off in a green Micra car - parked nearby - which is believed to have an M registration.
Police have released descriptions of the two men. Both are white and aged 20-25. One is 5ft 11ins tall, and was wearing a green coat with a hood and dark trousers. He has fair eyebrows.
The second man is about 5ft 10ins tall, slim, short dark hair and was wearing a blue anorak and a light coloured T-shirt and trousers.
Anyone who saw the men before or after the Crime, or may have information with they believe may help the police, is asked to contact Bolton Central CID or Crimestoppers on the free phone number 0800 555 111. All calls will be treated in confidence.
