BOLTON & DISTRICT TABLE TENNIS LEAGUE RON Durose starred with a treble in Little Lever A team's 6-3 victory over Hilton A in the Bolton and District League Premier Division. Phil Riley added two and Steve McNicholas chipped in with one while Steve Crook won two for the losers.

Meadow Hill A clinched a narrow 5-4 win over Farnworth B thanks to a treble from Jim Chadwick while John Hutchinson and Majid Tubasun both won two for the losers.

Newly promoted Doe Hey continued their winning ways defeating Nomads B 8-1 with three wins each for Andy McCheyne and Alan Ingerson.

Two wins each for Gareth Palmer and Peter Bladen gave Nomads B a narrow 5-4 win over Wingates A for whom John Bradbury had a treble.

Little Lever C also won 5-4 against Ladybridge A when star man was Ian Landsdale with three wins while Gary Pilling added two, George Simpson was the losers' top player with a double.

Three wins from Craig Johnson for Nomads A helped them to a 7-2 win over Little Lever B whose wins were recorded by Roy Costello. Withins A recorded a convincing 9-0 win over Black Dog in Division Two while John Scowcroft clinched a treble and Paul Mort a double in Heaton A's 5-4 victory over Chorley Old Road B for whom Kevan Stones won two.

Paul Wyatt was the star of the show with maximum wins in Withins C's 7-2 victory over Breightmet in Division Three where Alan Hardman chipped in with another two while Alex Hinchcliffe got a double Withins. Hilton D ran out 5-4 winners at BEN B thanks to three wins from Brian Carter, Jack Higginbottom and Alan Hodgert winning two each for BEN.

In Division Four three wins by Cliff Delvard gained Meadow Hill C a 5-4 win at Halliwell Meths for whom Bob Broughton and Paul Carrol won two each. The Halliwell team also lost at Little Lever E 8-1, Mark Martin and Brian Hardman each winning three for Little Lever.

In Division Five Hilton I won 7-2 at Ladybridge F with three wins for James Lloyd and two each for Clive Walsh and Stephen Ross, Fred Parker winning two for Ladybridge.

Meadow Hill D also won at Ladybridge defeating the D team 6-3 in which Patrick Lydon starred with a treble, while Joanne Holden added two for the winners and Jamie Parker did the same for Ladybridge.
