BOLTON magic man Glenn Scott is on the lookout for a new assistant.
Ambitious Glenn - who aims to become bigger than David Copperfield and has his sights on making a million in Las Vegas - found himself assistant-less when sister Adele Urmston started a new career as a Butlins' red coat.
So now Glenn, 23, from Wasdale Avenue, Breightmet, is hoping to hear from ambitious and out-going personalities keen to be the next Debbie McGee.
But perhaps more importantly his assistant must not be too attached to her head because Glenn is quite keen on performing the more macabre type of tricks - like decapitation.
He borrowed the idea from the old guillotine head chopper, and brought it bang up to date, replacing the old wooden and steel head cutter with an electric saw!
Another trick is the spectacular "triple sword levitation" illusion in which his assistant is poised on the tips of three sword blades. Then Glenn removes the blades to leave her floating on thin air.
He jokes: "I don't know why but even my sister didn't trust me with the head chopping off trick."
With a major competition next month - the UK Magic Magician of the Year - Glenn is hoping to get his new assistant in place quickly.
Dream
If he does well in the Southport contest, Glenn is hoping to attract sponsorship to take part in major competitions in the United States. So he's also looking for long-term commitment from his new assistant.
"Basically, I need someone who can get on stage, be it in front of 40 or 4,000 people. They also need to be like me in having a dream of hitting the big time.
"Dancing experience would be useful but not essential, because personality and the will to succeed is far more important."
Glenn can be contacted on Bolton 708698.
