I see that Bob Howarth is facing a re-selection battle. He has done a good job as leader of Bolton Council, but at 72 years of age, he really should be thinking of standing down and letting a younger man take his place.
I also think that upon reaching the age of 70 all councillors should retire from office.
After all, council workers on reaching 65, have to retire - remember the lollipop lady who was forced to retire, not all that long ago, even though she wished to continue working?
