BUSINESS opportunities in South East Asia will come under the spotlight at Bolton Bury Export Club's lunchtime seminar at Bury Town Hall on Monday.
DTI Export Promoters Greg Evans and Paddy Hall will share their detailed knowledge and rich experience of South East Asian markets.
They will also outline the comprehensive Government support available through Business Link, British Trade International and the DTI.
Local manufacturer Paul Dickinson, managing director of Bury's Fluidair Compressors, will explain how, despite the strong pound, his company is revitalising contacts with Singapore and Malaysia to open up new business.
Mr Dickinson said: "South East Asia amounts for a third of our export business and has excellent potential, but careful preparation is required by companies thinking about doing business here.
"One of the keys to success is long term relationship building. This is especially important to us because we're generally involved in large engineering contracts where there's a need to set up a local after sales care service.
"We've also made excellent use of Business Links and consuls and the raft of Government support available to exporters."
Julian Birchett, head of international trade for Bolton and Bury Chamber's Business Link: "The 'tiger' economies are showing signs of re-emerging and the Government has designated them priority markets. There is a powerful package of support available via Business Link and other agencies."
