A LITTLE girl pleaded with a mugger not to steal her new mountain bike after he hurled her to the ground outside her home.
Naomi Conway, of Medlock Close, Farnworth, had received her first proper bicycle for her fifth birthday only days before the attack.
But as she played alone on the £80 bright pink bike at the front of her house on Saturday afternoon she was grabbed by a man.
"This man just walked up to her and threw her off the bike," said Naomi's furious mum, Julie.
"She has bruises on her legs and like a handprint where he has ripped her feet off the pedals."
As she lay on the ground little Naomi begged her attacker "please don't take my bike".
But the man, who Naomi describes as having a moustache, ran off with the cycle.
Naomi then ran indoors in tears to tell her mum what had happened.
"I ran all over but I could not see anyone," said Julie.
The St James' CE Primary School pupil has been devastated by the theft, says Julie.
"She keeps being sick and doesn't want to go to school or anything," she explained. "It was her first bike without stabilisers.
"I just want to find out who he is. I don't know how he can do this to a little child.
"There is no way I can get her another one. Not yet anyway."
