A BOLTON student is set to climb three mountains over the next two months as she makes the final preparations for her trip to Malaysia.
As reported in the BEN, Victoria Bayley will visit Sabah in November to climb 4,101 metres to the summit of Mount Kinabulu.
But before the 17-year-old Bolton School student takes flight on her adventure-seeking mission, she still needs to raise £1,250 before October 15 and, she hopes, a further £1,250 for Bolton Hospice. The three challenges facing the bright youngster, who is aiming to study geography at Cambridge University, came after she was accepted on the Fulcrum Challenge, a programme which invests in the "leaders of the future".
She said the mountain climb will fulfil her lifetime ambition.
Bernard Rhead, the hospice's director of fund-raising, said: "At the hospice we are giving Victoria all the support possible and we trust the general public of Bolton will help this young lady in her mission."
Victoria will also trek through a rain forest and live in one of the country's remote villages, and use the trip to enhance her leadership potential.
