TWO popular television soap stars feature in the Octagon Theatre's production of The Blue Room in May.
Anna Brecon -- Lady Tara in Emmerdale -- and Stephen Beckett -- PC Jarvis in The Bill -- are in the play which premiered in 1998 at the Donmar Warehouse with Nicole Kidman.
Named Most Popular Newcomer in the National Television Awards, 1998, Brecon's other television credits also include The Bill. She has been in plays at the Salisbury Theatre, the Watermill Theatre, Newbury, and acted with the Serendipity Theatre Company at the Prince Regent Theatre.
Scandalous
RADA-trained Beckett has appeared at a number of theatres including the Crucible, Sheffield and the Royal Exchange, Manchester.
Mark Babych directs The Blue Room which has been freely adapted by David Hare from Schnitzler's scandalous play La Ronde.
It's described as "A dream-like, evocative exploration of desire and deceit -- a picture of longing which will captivate anybody who has ever wanted somebody".
Because of its subject matter, the play is strictly for adults only.
The Blue Room runs at the Octagon from May 4 to May 27.
