COUNCIL officials have raised their glasses to toast a Chorley company made good.
Pub Estate Company (PEC), whose headquarters are in Chorley, has just announced the purchase of 361 tenanted and managed pubs from Scottish & Newcastle, putting it in the top 12 pub companies in the country.
Chorley Borough Council leader Jack Wilson said: "We congratulate the Pub Estate Company on their success.
"It's tremendous to see a local business doing so well and raising Chorley's profile in the process."
He added: "Recently we have attracted a number of new concerns, and with them jobs, to our borough.
"More and more are beginning to see that Chorley is a great place for business and as a council we will continue to offer whatever assistance we can to make them feel welcome and to go on to greater success."
