A MUCH-needed new roundabout looks set to get the go ahead as a Chorley theme park plans expansion.
Chorley Borough Council's development control committee was due to discuss plans for a new multi-million pound timeshare development adjacent to Camelot, Park Hall, Charnock Richard, on Tuesday night.
Councillors were recommended to back the plans, on condition that owners Prime Resorts Ltd agree to fund a new roundabout on the A49/Mill Lane junction.
Ward councillor Harold Heaton welcomed the news.
He said: "The parish council was against any further development at Park Hall unless improvements were made to the traffic situation.
"The recommendation is that the council should approve these plans with the condition that Park Hall pays for the roundabout."
Prime Resorts is planning to build 75 timeshare units on land close to the theme park and the existing Spanish Village.
