A PURPOSE-built council office is being erected in Kearsley.
The existing temporary local housing office in Town Yard behind the former Town Hall being replaced by a new building.
It will be called a Joint Service Facility and will provide a range of housing, leisure, community education and youth services.
Community rooms will be created and could be used for everything from a nursery to adult education activities. The office will include an electronic link to the Bolton Information Network at Farnworth Town Hall, allowing residents access to information about all the council's services at the touch of a button. Chairman of housing at Bolton Council, Cllr Noel Spencer, said: "The scheme is all about providing a seamless service to customers and it is a great boost to the community of Kearsley."
The facility is being funded by a combination of the Coalfield Task Force, Housing, Leisure Services and Education and Arts.
