A PLANNING application has been put in for banners to be put up on lamposts in Victoria Square.

The BEN reported last month that council chiefs had to write to the Bolton Town Centre Company telling them they needed planning permission to put them up.

And one member of the public was so angry that the banners have been put up for the second time without planning permission that he reported it to the Local Government Ombudsman.

The banners are advertising events at The Bolton Octagon and are designed to promote events and bring visitors to Bolton.

The planning application is in the latest list submitted to Bolton Council.
